“Fire Precaution” refers to various measures that are taken to minimize the risk of damages from fire. This includes: implementation and installation of policies and equipment that are designed to prevent fires.
The term General Fire Precautions (GFP) is used to describe structural features and any available equipment. This is to ensure that occupants of a building are able to exit and go to a safe place during a fire!
These include (but are not limited to):

- Ensure the building is equipped with the structural features necessary enclose the fire and extinguish it. Moving to a safe place to gather.
- Developing escape routes and shelter-in-place measures.
