SERVPRO Fire Damage
Knowing the difference between the types of Fires can be life-saving to you, your family, friends and businesses!
First, please know that fueling agents break down 5 types of Fires into these categories: Class A, B, C, D and of course Class K.
Each type of a fire should be handled differently due to their different types of flammable materials. Always be cautious, a bad move can make the situation more dangerous!
It is important to know which type of fire extinguisher to use! First, pull the pin and aim the nozzle from a safe difference. Then slowly squeeze the handle (sweeping the nozzle from side to side) until the fire has been put out. When using a fire extinguisher, make sure to aim low at the base of the fire.
Always make sure the fire extinguisher is up to date (date-checked) and in working condition. This is imperative for when disasters strike. There is nothing worse than needing a fire extinguisher at the moment of an emergency and it won't work!
Most importantly, you'll want to use the proper extinguisher when putting out a fire. Contact your local fire department for more information.
